How to Look Put Together On a Budget

Hey girlie! Today I am letting you in on a little secret of mines! I am spilling all the beans on how to look put together on a budget! I told you guys all about how I am re-defining my personal style. One, because I want to look like the cool boss mom that I am lol, but two is because when you look better you feel better! I don’t know about you guys, but I go tired of looking like what I’ve been through lol . So lately, even if I am working from home, I am making it a point to always look put together. Now for me, “looking put together” doesn’t mean dressed to the 9’s. Simply just looking cute, casual, some what polished. Nonetheless lets get into how to look put together on a budget!
CREATE A MOOD BOARD
First and foremost, get a mood board together! Run over to Pinterest and search for some inspiration. This will help you identify your style and what your definition is of looking put together. Look for inspiration for all parts of your day where you dress casually like running errands, working at home, going to the gym, etc.
DECLUTTER + SHOP YOUR CLOSET
Secondly, we are going to establish what items you have already vs what you need. When I personally did this step. It help me realize how much stuff I was holding onto that was no longer part of my style or no longer practical for my current season. Boom! 3 garbage bags of things later, I was able to see all of the items I already have at home. Most importantly I realized all the clothing pieces I had forgotten about. All still with tags on them smh!
BUILD A CAPSULE WARDROBE
Lastly, you are going to build a capsule wardrobe. This is just a fancy way of saying get items that all can be swapped out and worn with each other interchangeably. This should be a mix of what you already have and midfully added the pieces that you need. My favorite way to do this is to shop smart and stick to a color scheme. Currently my obsession is neutrals and hunter green. It makes it so easy for everything I have to match.
You may also want to consider investing into coordinate or two piece sets. This is one of my most favorite was to look put together on budget. You don’t have to put much thought into styling them. You can also wear the set together and each piece separate. At the moment my favorite was to style a 2 piece set is to layer it with some cute outwear and I am out the door!
All in all, I hope these tips up us all show up and look put together effortlessly from today and beyond! And if you see my out and about looking anything less, feel free to check me boo!
Sincerely,
Jo
